Each car is named by pairing the initials of the team's founding faculty advisor, Prof. Albert R. George (ARG), with the year it's sent to competition — ARG99 debuted in 1999. The team builds on a schedule of one car per year, since official competition rules require a newly manufactured chassis for every annual entry.
